Last week was busy. The kind of week where your to-do list is longer on Friday than it was on Monday.
So, less fanfare today. Let's dive right into this week's insights!
It was 9pm. I just wrapped up a client deliverable.
It’s usual for this time of year, but I was glad to have gotten so much done for the day.
I sat down on the couch, curled up with Gus, and then it flashed into my mind.
The newsletter was due to Mark 2 days ago.
And I’d promised him I’d get it to him that day.
Instant guilt.
A feeling that is all too familiar.
I built that rule – that we’d send our newsletter our every other week. No exceptions.
Nobody told me I had to do it like that. I did.
Checking Myself
I checked myself real quickly.
Who is actually cross-referencing my send schedule?
And to my reader, I doubt you actually are – but now you know it!
The rule I was so worried about breaking had an audience of one.
A lot of us live here as leaders.
Enforcing standards nobody asked for. But at what cost?
Choosing What Matters
This week, client work needed me more.
So did Gus and the couch.
So, shorter newsletter.
With a little help from Claude this time.
